A Swansea Weekend

I am originally a Swansea girl and love any excuse to go home, especially when there are promises of gin and Vietnamese food.

It was my mums birthday, so a good old knees up was in order, but first...Breakfast.

We headed down to Blackpill for some much needed coffee and bacon. The rain was lashing down and we ran for cover in The Junction Cafe. When I used to drive the land train, I would pop in for door stop toast and coffee's most days, it is still as fabulous and the perfect spot for an early morning bite to eat. I went for the bagel with cream cheese, bacon, pesto & tomatoes. I made the biggest cream cheese mess but loved every second - It was so delicious and I am definitely going to make this at home. My mum had the cooked breakfast which looked every bit as delicious as a full English should.

If you're visiting Swansea and you are stuck for somewhere to go for brunch, make The Junction your first stop. The inside is so cute and the staff are all so fab - It's the perfect Saturday Morning hideaway.

We spent the afternoon drinking tea, eating cake and beautifying ourselves, which quickly brought us around to dinner time, the best time.

Sadly no birthday candles were available...

Accidentally all dressed in white, we headed for quick gin stop off at Noah's Yard (I am still yet to find a bar cooler than this one but its hard to beat) before heading to Vietnam. We went last year for my mums birthday and I loved it so much, that I was rather skeptical on going back because it was so good I didn't know how they could top it....but they did.

Since returning from Thailand, I am completely obsessed with noodles and all sorts of spicy, aromatic dishes. This time I went for a lemongrass, chicken dish and it was incredible. We ordered everything we fancied and ate far too much, but when food is that good (and cheap) its hard not too.

I urge any foodies in Swansea to try this place, as the food is superb and the service is unbeatable. It isn't fancy in any way and you have probably walked past it a dozen times, but it's a real gem and I can't wait to go back already.
