Perfect Porridge Challenge Part 1 - Cinnamon Nut Porridge

I am one of the many, who is guilty of posting pictures of their morning porridge for all to see, so you can imagine how excited I was when Flahavans asked me if I wanted to take part in their #PerfectPorridge challenge.

When it comes to oats, just call me Goldilocks, it is one of my absolute favourite ways to start the day, and if it meant going up against 3 bears to get my porridge fix in the morning, I probably would.

If like me, you love cinnamon, nuts and heaps of honey, keep reading.

For this cinnamon, sprinkled, nutty delight, You will need:

  • A big cup of Flahavans oats
  • Milk
  • Greek Yogurt
  • Almonds and unsalted pistachios
  • Coconut Oil
  • Ground Cinnamon 
  • Strawberries
  • Goji Berries
  • Honey

To make the porridge:
  • Let your oats and milk simmer for 5 minutes until they are perfectly creamy.
  • Heat some coconut oil in a pan, then add a handful of almonds and pistachios. Sprinkle over a good amount of cinnamon and leave them to toast, moving them around frequently.
  • Once your oats are done and smelling delicious, put them into your bowl and add a a big dollop of greek yogurt.
  • Put your toasted nuts on top and sprinkle your goji berries and chopped up strawbs around the edge.
  • Finish up with a great big drizzle of honey.

It really is that simple, and for those who say they don't have time to prepare brekkie in the morning, this took 5 minutes and was super duper scrumptious, leaving me full right up until lunch time.

All that is left to do then is pour your coffee, admire your work and tuck in. 

What can I say, I really do love porridge...
